Yes it’s freezing outside and your Zara puffer jacket is being tested by the elements but in the meantime we wanted to bring your attention to 3 black female filmmakers you NEED to know about!
The industry is really on the up so we look forward to showcasing more but in the meantime let’s introduce you to know these 3:
Charlene Wango

A seasoned writer/director, Charlene’s latest project ‘Fields’ starring Top Boy’s Malcom Kalumete and Blue Story’s Stevie Gambles is set to take her to a new level and quite frankly we’re here for it!
Monique Needham

Getting her start in the industry via Channel 4’s ‘Big Brother’ back in the day, she decided to take the leap into directing with ‘Cashpoint’ starring Ani Nelson (if you haven’t seen it you’re missing out)!
Her latest film ‘Mum, Me’ is currently doing the festival rounds and you’ll be able to feast your eyes on it soon!
Olivia Fraser

A writer, director among many other talents, Olivia’s projects often showcase lives and stories from a female lens that many often miss. Her latest project ‘A Miseducation of Love’ starring Sharon Oji and Michael Bunga is simple and original and we’re looking forward to seeing what else she’s got instore!
With talent like this on the horizon… Our industry’s future is bright!
